Mrs. Jennings Smith holds over 25 years of solid experience with law enforcement, having entered the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (T.T.P.S) as a constable and retired as an Assistant Commissioner of Police; an astounding achievement being one of few women to attain this level in the TTPS. Regarded as an officer with knowledge, skills and proven abilities to initiate and implement new initiatives to meet demands in a law enforcement environment, Jennings-Smith has shown concern for women and children whilst at the T.T.P.S having piloted a project to establish and open the first “Halfway House” for the victims of domestic violence and abuse located in Four Roads district in Diego Martin. Mrs. Jennings-Smit completed her Masters degree in Applied Criminology and Police Management at the University of Cambridge, U.K, Mrs. Jennings-Smith had also attended the University of the West Indies, where she completed BA studies in Public Administration and Social Work.
